Ana & Teresa in Amar en tiempos revueltos
Amar en tiempos revueltos is a spanish soap opera created by Rodolf Sirera. The series was broadcast on “La 1” between 2005 and 2012. The story is set in the Spanish Civil War during the early years of General Franco’s regime. The entire work was inspired by a popular Catalan fiction featured on TV3: Temps de silenci. In a context of political and social crisis, labor movements are fighting back and better working conditions begin to emerge. Reformers aggregate to each other and manage to challenge the semi-slavery methods of caciques power. These major events lead the government to take the symbolic decision to end the privileged status of the church in Spain. The show follows a sapphic romance between Ana Rivas (Andrea Robles), a rich heiress who was educated in the most prestigious schools, and Teresa García (Carlota Olcina), the youngest daughter of a working-class couple who start to work in Ana’s store.
