En vrac (6) – the gayest things we’ve seen this week

A list of interesting short films, webseries and music video clips we’ve recently bookmarked.

Our first time is a short film directed by Sarah Rotella and written by Arianna Dilonardo. The story depicts an entire lesbian relationship in its first and last moments. It stars Nadia Mohebban and Ali Starr Goebel. The movie is shared by UnsolicitedProject.

BIFL: The Series is a comedic webseries exploring expectations, different shades of intimacy, and what it really means to love someone. Blood family versus found family and how toxic relationships can both manifest and disguise themselves. In the first episode, Jill is a little bit in love with her best friend Chloe and a little bit terrified to say anything to her about it, even though their roommate Sarah is both convinced that the feelings are mutual and is sick to death of waiting for one of them to make a move. The series is shared by one more lesbian.

Blinking Eyes is the official music video of the latest single of Lavren featuring Keara Graves. Lauren Rice is an independent singer and artist. She portrays herself in this clip. The visual for Blinking Eyes was directed, shot & edited by photographer Elizabeth Carrigan.

Coming Out is a short film created by Breanne Williamson. This is how she presents her project: “When did you come out? Whether I’m doing a media interview, at a dinner party, or scrolling through social media comments, this question is almost always present. My forever answer, ‘I’m always coming out.”, is continuously met with the same confused look. In this LGBTQ+ short I spoof the many times I’ve come out in my life, from checking in to a hotel to find that they have “upgraded” my girlfriend and I to separate rooms to the 80 year old man at my office who always said “quit texting your boyfriend!” when I looked at my phone. I examine how the assumption of heterosexuality in our society requires LGBTQ+ folks to come out, daily, presented in a comedic and satirical light. There is power in laughter”.
