Signature Move (2017)

Signature Move is a dramedy written by Lisa Donato and Fawzia Mirza, directed by Jennifer Reeder. «Zynab is a Pakistani at home in Chicago, wearing her hair cropped short and driving a bright red moped to her job as an immigration lawyer. She’s also training to be a wrestler. All day long, her widowed mother sits in Zynab’s living room, watching endless Pakistani soap operas, devoutly fixing her hijab, and using binoculars to size up suitable husbands for her daughter. When Zynab begins a serious relationship with Alma, a confident Mexican-American woman, she is forced to confront her lifestyle and her mother’s traditional expectations» Note: the film continues its festival tour, the trailer is shared by Calgary International Film Festival.
