Keep an eye on Pure
Pure is a comedy drama series about 24-year-old Marnie who is plagued by disturbing sexual thoughts, it’s an adaptation of Rose Cartwright’s acclaimed biography. The series was written by Kirstie Swain (Clique). It will begins at 10pm on Wednesday 30th January on Channel 4. Pure is a truthful exploration of one young woman’s search for herself and her very real struggle with ‘pure O’ – an excruciating type of obsessive-compulsive disorder which takes the form of intrusive thoughts. In London, Marnie finds a gang of new friends, all with their own challenges. She moves in with her “deceptively cheery” old school pal Shereen and befriends Charlie. Marnie also meets ladies-woman Amber (who has a problematic reputation for her promiscuity) and her housemate Joe. Marnie and Amber are portrayed by Charly Clive and Niamh Algar.
